Ecosystem Monitoring and Scaling for Climate Change Impacts

The ECOMOSAIC project is a two-year scientific initiative funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) under the CLIMATE-SPACE programme. Its main objective is to advance biodiversity monitoring and assess climate change impacts on terrestrial ecosystems. The project integrates Earth observation data, Copernicus satellite programmes, climate models, citizen science, and field measurements. This collaboration will develop new indicators and open-source tools for monitoring ecosystem health. These outputs will directly support nature conservation and the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Jackdaw AI Agent for Geospatial Analysis

Jackdaw is an AI agent specialising in GeoAI workflows, combining natural-language interaction with automated geospatial processing. It assists with tasks such as spatial data retrieval, feature extraction, classification and predictive mapping, orchestrating GIS and machine-learning operations through conversational commands. By translating analytical intent into executable pipelines — and explaining intermediate results along the way — Jackdaw lowers the barrier to advanced geocomputation, making spatial modelling and Earth-observation analyses accessible to both domain experts and non-GIS users.

JupyterLab for Species Distribution Modelling

JupyterLab provides an integrated environment for reproducible species distribution modelling workflows. Notebook cells support sequential processing — from data cleaning and environmental predictor preparation through model training and validation — with inline visualisation of maps, response curves and diagnostics. Coupled with Python geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, rasterio, scikit-learn), it facilitates iterative experimentation and transparent documentation of ecological analyses.
